Teaser Tuesday: Fairy Ring: A colliding worlds story by Arthur Russell

Welcome to another installment of Teaser Tuesday. Today I am starting to read a book that I recently received from an author in exchange for a review. Fairy Ring: A colliding worlds story by Arthur Russell (Amazon). I am excited to read a book from an indie author and to give support to the art of writing.

Here is the Amazon synopsis:

Morgan Johnson faces the world with all the poise of a self-confident country girl as she heads off to college, but finds her life turned upside down when a madman kidnaps her best friend. With a group of companions she heads off to Aerth, a land of magic not unlike our own, in hopes of rescuing her friend and discovering what the future may hold for her.

My plan is to start reading it tonight, as I just finished Influx last night and Eye of the World this morning. So this excerpt is from the first page.

fairy_ring“Morgan! Come on!”

“Comin’, gawd!” Morgan hollered out the window.

She took one more look in the mirror at the small jade green eyes set in round, freckle dusted face. No makeup to sweat off today, she thought.

One of the things I love about the current state of digital publishing is that the world now has access to a tremendous variety of stories. This is no limit to the amount of stories that can now be read. We need nurture this expanding well of stories and buy independent books, either digital or hard copy.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
